MPCALA Holdings Inc. (MHI), the company behind the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAx), recently announced the long-awaited inauguration of the Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange. This 3.9-kilometer, 2×2 lane expressway segment is poised to revolutionize travel for commuters throughout the region.
Effective Nov. 8, 2023, motorists can seamlessly traverse this new section without incurring any toll charges, a generous gesture set to continue indefinitely. Travelers will only be subjected to the Silang East Interchange toll fee, embodying a customer-centric approach to CALAx travel.
The Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange is poised to play a pivotal role in alleviating congestion on Cavite’s busiest highway, granting access to the burgeoning tourist attractions of Silang town and Tagaytay City. It is projected to accommodate an additional 5,000 daily motorists, providing them with seamless entry to these vibrant locales.
This latest extension links CALAx to Aguinaldo Highway in Silang, further augmenting its accessibility and extending the advantages of hassle-free travel to the local community and beyond.
As part of its ambitious expansion plan, CALAx is set to span 45 kilometers by 2024, with eight strategically located interchanges: Technopark, Laguna Boulevard, Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road, Silang East, Silang (Aguinaldo), Governor’s Drive, Open Canal, and Kawit Interchange. Ultimately, CALAx will integrate with the Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex) in Kawit, seamlessly connecting key regions. Presently, its operational segments extend from Mamplasan Rotunda to Silang East Interchange.
Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) serves as the toll road development arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC). In addition to CALAx and Cavitex, MPTC holds concession rights for North Luzon Expressway (NLEx), NLEx Connector Road, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, and Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway in Cebu.
