The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (PCCIJ) is eyeing increased Japanese investment in the province of Bulacan.

During an official visit to the Provincial Government in the City of Malolos on 23 October 2025, the PCCIJ delegation conducted an economic mission themed “Exploring Synergies, Building Strategic Partnership.” The mission brought together Japanese business leaders and company owners led by PCCIJ Chairman Allan Reyes.

The delegation explored potential investment opportunities and discussed possible business collaborations in the province. They were welcomed by Governor Daniel R. Fernando, Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro, and representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Bulacan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), San Miguel Corporation, and Elsal Ventures.

Bulacan’s growing economic potential was highlighted through Invest Bulacan and A Glimpse of Bulacan audiovisual presentations delivered by Engr. Randy H. Po, OIC-Department Head of the Provincial Planning and Development Office. San Miguel Infrastructure CFO and Treasury Head Raoul C. Romulo also presented an overview of the New Manila International Airport project, which continues to accelerate the province’s development.

BCCI President Corina Bautista discussed the chamber’s programs and potential partnerships with Japanese investors, while Governor Fernando assured the delegation of the province’s commitment to strengthening public-private partnerships.

“Hindi na po isang pangarap na lamang ang maging ‘Investment Powerhouse’ ang Bulacan,” said Fernando. “With its strategic location, excellent infrastructure, and skilled workforce, Bulacan continues to attract numerous local and international investors.”

Chairman Reyes expressed optimism about deepening Japan-Philippines collaboration, saying, “We see great possibilities when Japan’s technological precision merges with Filipino engineering excellence.”

Following the forum, delegates joined a heritage tour of Bulacan’s landmarks—including the Pasalubong Center, Barasoain Church, Casa Real Shrine, and Palacio Real de Sto. Niño—showcasing the province’s rich culture and history alongside its modern economic rise.
