The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC) said it will auction a major portfolio of prime real estate across Luzon during its first electronic public bidding for 2026 on Jan. 28 and Jan. 29.

The state-run deposit insurer is offering corporate and closed bank assets on an “as-is, where-is” basis to investors and developers. Submissions for bids open at 9 a.m. on Jan. 28 and close at 1 p.m. on Jan. 29 through the PDIC e-bidding portal. Bids will be opened at 2 p.m. on the final day of the event.

A prime commercial lot in Barangay Poblacion I, Sta. Magdalena, Sorsogon, headlines the auction.

The portfolio also features 43 residential properties, 36 agricultural lots and 9 mixed-use properties. These assets range in size from 70 square meters to six hectares and are located in provinces including Albay, Batangas, Bulacan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Cavite, Isabela, Laguna, La Union, Pangasinan, Rizal, Sorsogon, Tarlac and Zambales.

Prospective buyers should complete a one-time registration on the PDIC e-bidding website to participate.

The corporation advised bidders to conduct due diligence on the actual condition, ownership status and legal circumstances of the properties before submitting offers. All bidding requirements and conditions are available on the digital portal.

Specific regulations apply to agricultural land acquisitions under Philippine law. Winning bidders for these lots should submit a certification from the Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer within 15 days of the auction.

The document should verify that the land is not covered by the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program and lacks any existing Emancipation Patents or Certificates of Land Ownership Awards.

Buyers of agricultural assets are also required to file an Affidavit of Aggregate Landholdings within the same 15-day window. This affidavit must confirm that the buyer’s total landholdings do not exceed the 5-hectare limit established by law.
